A Selective Model UN Is a Good Model UN
The recent shift to a selective Model UN program at Denver Jewish Day School (DJDS) has sparked mixed reactions. While some argue that it undermines the school’s inclusivity values, others believe it will strengthen the team by fostering healthy competition and meritocracy. By limiting participation this year due to staffing constraints, the school is ensuring both safety and a higher standard of excellence. Much like the school’s successful basketball program, the selective process encourages students to strive for greatness, ultimately pushing the entire team to improve. Though controversial, this change offers an opportunity for the Model UN team to evolve and grow into something DJDS can be proud of.

Dermer’s Dreams
Former DJDS teacher Mr. Dermer embarked on an inspiring journey after leaving the school, traveling through Israel, Dubai, and Thailand before settling in Miami. Along the way, he immersed himself in new cultures, trained in Muay Thai, and ultimately found purpose as a case manager at a substance abuse clinic. His adventures serve as a reminder to explore, grow, and stand up for others.

Second Semester Begins
Denver Jewish Day School’s second semester brings new AP courses, thriving extracurriculars, and exciting traditions like Color War. Clubs are expanding, with Moot Court heading to Nationals and new student-led groups like Magic and Fishing Club. The semester promises growth, exploration, and community engagement.
